HELP A SHELTER
Ursula 084 555 1400
Our animal shelter food drive is well underway and being wonderfully supported by animal lovers in the Fourways / Lonehill area
There is no better feeling than collecting a trolley or box that is filled to the brim.
Special mention must go to the management and customers of Spar Fourways Gardens. We have already collected three trolleys filled with big bags of food and tins. Thank you to everybody that has kindly donated
Another collection point that is doing very well is Westpack Lifestyle in the Lonehill centre. We feel like we are a part of the Westpack family already, all the staff are so friendly
Vet to Pet is also one of our star performers, with our collection box placed right at the entrance of their shop,
Pick n Pay Lonehill is our newest collection point that we are extremely happy to have on board. We were so overwhelmed by the response of Manager Thabo. His eagerness to be involved with the food drive is so appreciated. He is already helping with the feral cat collections
Perhaps we will have a friendly rivalry between two Pick n Pay branches, as Fourways Crossing is now also a collection partner. Store Manager Precious did not hesitate to help the communities animals and readily set up a collection trolley for us in prime position.
We now have a collection point in most of the main centres in the area:
Spar – Fourways Gardens (thank you, Piet)
Pick n Pay – Lonehill shopping centre (thank you Thabo)
Pick n Pay – Fourways Crossing (thank you, Precious)
Vet to Pet – Lonehill shopping centre (thank you, Karen)
Westpack Lifestyle – Lonehill shopping centre (thank you, Amanda and Felicia)
Pawsitively Pets – Fourways Gardens centre. (thank you, Iris)
3 @ 1 – Leaping Frog centre (thank you, Tania)
Fourways Auto Tech – Cedar Road, Broadacres (thank you, Mike)
Thank you to all the wonderful people from the above retailers, without you this food drive would not be possible.
We would like to also mention a very special Lonehill resident that has also donated food towards our drive, Gail van Straaten. Your dedication to animals is heartwarming, keep up all the good work that you are doing at Sandton Spca
The holidays are a very daunting time of the year for animal shelters when the number of admissions soars and most people delay getting a family pet until after the holidays
We urge you to always make the Spcas your first adoption choice, these are the dogs and cats that need your help the most, as they only have a limited time within which to find homes.
This time frame shortens dramatically during the holidays due to space constraints

You may adopt from any of the SPCA branches, as long as you go in personally to view the dog and complete the adoption application form. You will need to take your id and proof of residence. You may not send someone in on your behalf.
A home check will then be done through the SPCA in your local area
Hopeful adoption of the week:
Meet Pixie, Lady and Kleintjie, the sweetest, most beautiful little toy poms
They are three sisters and need to be homed together. Unfortunately, they landed up in a shelter due to their human parents getting divorced. There have been many requests to home them separately but we do not want to split them as they are very closely bonded. They are currently in Maltese French Poodle Yorkie Rescue in Midrand.
