City suspends officials implicated in non-renewal of Pikitup fleet contract

In an effort to ensure consistent and reliable service delivery to our residents, the City has decided to
suspend senior officials who were responsible for the processing of the Pikitup fleet tender, pending an
investigation into allegations of misconduct.

Full Refuse Removal Services to Resume at Pikitup by Thursday

Today, Pikitup will be operating with limited capacity throughout Johannesburg due to the failure to manage the transition of our ad hoc fleet contracts in Pikitup.

The ad hoc fleet contract serves to provide additional vehicles to the City to compensate for the attrition of Pikitup’s aged fleet.
